He351 cw

Hi all, I bought a "core" 351 cw for 80 bucks shipped, he said, "the compressor wheel hit the housing but not much its a lil shinny", My question is I know of a couple people thats ran them after it touched with out a problem but i was wondering where i can get another wheel if i have to or should i just run it and if it blows apart get another one down the road??? I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible so no batmowheel for me lol. Just to clarify the Hx35 rebuild kit is the same right???

If its the same as the hx/hy I can buy a holset kit off eBay for 49 bucks plus 8 shipping, I guess they claim its a holset, not real sure.

Yup, i bought the kit in the link above and it showed HY35 on it. Worked fine. I have seen a comp. wheel for about 350 somewhere, the batmowheel isn't much more but i may try it on mine. Will let you know if i have the stock wheel for sale, wont be for a month or so though.

Alright sounds like i'll order the kit for the hx\hy then, alright let me know, i'm still alittle tempted to throw it on after i rebuild it if the fins aren't chewed up, if it hasn't rubbed that hard. I wonder if I could throw an hx housings and comp wheel on for now, I know i wouldn't have the 60 mm wheel but Once i bought one or got another one i could always swap it out later......

I've seen wheels and turbine wheels on ebay before. Just keep watching it. I used the dieselautopower kit on my last he351 I rebuilt that i have on my truck now. it is genuine holset, the bearings are a tad different than the hx35 kits you can get on ebay for $40, but I believe they'd still work.

Is the bearings in the dap kit more like the hx40 kit on cpp? They look longer and like they'd last better.
