Having fun and learning
Got fresh snow in the Cascades this week and I took my truck out to get the feel for it in deep wet snow. It was a blast and was real helpful in feeling how it responds when getting sideways and such. Its been awhile since I threw a fullsize 4x4 around (been driving a toyota) and that extra weight can really make a difference. That 4 wheel low feels like a tractor too. Anyways, im still smiling. If anybody out there hasnt had the opportunity to try this sort of thing, and the opportunity presents itself I would highly recomend taking advantage of it. It could come in real useful somewhere down the road. Im not advocating reckless driving, just common sense.
Yeah got snow here too!
It is a lot of fun to lock in the hubs and go way out into the woods and try to get stuck. The only complaint I have about these trucks is that they are so heavy they don't even try to stay on top of even the hardest packed snow they just sink right to the bottom. I have been out with the "jeep" club guys and they can keep those light things on top of even the lightest powder(6 to 10 feet deep') with about 5 psi in their tires, they all stay on top and we just push snow with the bumper, but I am impressed how well these things accelerate on ice with the LS rearends.
