Has anyone here had to do this mod?

The fuel screw extension...

If you have, tell me how it went and what to look out for, if anything.

I want some cheap power for a change.

This works only if your screw bottoms out before the engine runs away... have you found your unmodded screw to be too short? Mine went runaway with about 8 1/2 turns past the stock setting. Adding material to a screw that's either long enough or hasn't been maxed out is a lot of effort for naught.

Get a buddy and wind your fuel screw in until it runs away, then back it out 1 turn. If it bottoms before then, break out the welder.

I did it when I re-sealed my current pump, so I don't know if I needed to or not, I was just doing everything I found to get more fuel.

I did it on my 93. When I started turning it up it only went a little till it bottomed out. Pulled the fuel screw outta the 92 and it was 3/4'' longer so I welded a piece to it. Now it's between an 1/8 and a 1/4 turn from runaway. It doesn't take much amperage on the welder to burn it up so be careful when you add to it. And I put the other half to 3/4 of it in a water tray to keep the rest of it cool while I welded on it, don't know if it was neccessary or not but it worked for me. Good luck with it.

Mine (91.5) only went in a turn and a half from stock then bottomed out. I plan to do this. Possibly this weekend as I am driving the rc again.
