H1C have silencer ring?

I was just wondering if my H1C had a silencer ring in it. I'm hoping it does so I can pop that thing out and get some more turbo sound. Thanks

no silencer ring, its the hx35's that most people are talking about when they say about removing the silencer ring

Well I have a K&N filter and a swiss cheesed airbox. Is there anything else i could do to get more turbo noise? One of my friends has a Talon with an HX-40 and you can hear that thing sucking air like a jet. Obviously that turbo can pull a lot more air but he still runs less boost and less quantity than I do. Any ideas?

You could step over to a BHAF air filter. You'll get more whine and better filtering (IMO). The H1C, especially on non I/C trucks, is very quiet. Mine doesn't really start to sing its song untill it's over 22psi. It's just the nature of the beast, unfortunately. The MAP slots on the HX turbos are what add to the whistle. Your best bet for both performance and sound is to call Paul at High Tech Turbo and get the stage III compressor housing and wheel. There's a little fussing around to get the output to mate with your corssover pipe (check member edwinsmith's user gallery) but you'll be all smiles for your efforts, and all for less than 300 bucks

hx-40 on a gasser? Isn't that a BIG turbo for a little 4 banger gasser?

HAHA I knew I would get a response from somebody about that. And yes its true... HX40 on a 2.4 liter. And needless to say....It's extremely bad a*s. He pulled it straight off of his dad's combine with the 8.3 cummins. There's more mods to it than just the turbo though. Injectors, fuel management, exhaust, intercooler, cams, head, intake, etc.... the list goes on. He gets full boost (20 psi for now) at about 4,000rpm in first and it's just smooth sailing from there. I'm embarassed that he has a bigger turbo than me! I could get some pictures if ya guys are interested. Just let me know cuz this is a cummins forum and I don't want anybody mad at me. Later

You should have pulled it off the 8.3 before him.
