I have a 91.5 d250 5 speed. My parts doner is my old 90 d250 727 auto. The guage cluster is lookin really bad and the odometer is broke at 298,327 mi. I took the cluster out of my 90 so I could take it apart, clean it up and do some LED lighting to it, like I saw in the Sticky, in my house in my spare time. Will the auto cluster work in my 5 speed? Can i just change the speedomoter face of the 90 auto with the 91 stick to cover up the P RND21? And I feel dumb for asking but where is the sticky? I don't see it now. Anyone have any ideas or pictures on what color would look good? Im leaning toward red but maybe green...idk. Thanks for the help guys.

 

The sticky is the first or second thread in the first gen forum. The gauge cluster will work but if you want to swap the faces you need to remove the needle and that is hard to get back on in the perfect position again.

I did mine a while back with blue LEDs. Came out great. When I had the cluster apart, I spray painted the inside of the housing with chrome paint for reflectivity. I didn't have the fancy reflective tape that Jim Lane used. The chrome paint did the trick along with repainting the needles. I can post a pic later tonight when I get home but it doesn't do the mod justice.

The difference between the auto and manual cluster is jut the PRNDL indicator at the bottom. when you put the auto cluster in the manual truck just replace the PRNDL section with the blank one from the manual one.
