That shaft is ok, this truck pulls to the right, I don't understand why, the reason I bought the shaft is all of the sudden I would have to turn the wheel like 2 turns to the left before it would turn, so I ordered the shaft assuming it was bad. Well don't assume anything, I get under there to put the B-shaft on and the steering box is hanging on from only 2 of the three bolts. The bracket that bolts to the box then it bolts to the frame broke! The front bolt wasn't holding the box to the frame! so I already had the B-shaft so I went ahead and put it on and I haven't had any regrets. Kind of pricey though.
I never use 1st gear except for on steep hills and sometimes pulling trailers, clutches are cheap come on! haha
G1625S, hows that detroit?

Arod it is
Yeah, first gear is all business, but the truth is, I just love to shift
Heck, I was leaving a parking lot today---traffic was real busy, so my attention was on the intersection--didn't realize I had started in 3rd untill I was doing 35 w/out shifting
Funny, my truck didn't pull when I got it, steering wheel was off center, it ate the inside edge of both front tires in 2k miles! I cranked the tierod out about 6 turns (what, PAY for an alignment!?
) The wheel straightened, it's not eating tires and now it pulls right! Go figure.

I know! I don't understand how a straight axle can pull. I took mine to an alignment shop and they told me that the left front tire had a camber of -2.5 deg, and the right front was -1.5 and that was probably the reason why. But I don't see how one could be angled in more than the other one. I replaced both of the plastic bushings in the upper king pin and that didn't help. I guess its just going to pull. And why pay for an alignment! The nice thing about the borgeson is that you can straighten the steering wheel infinately!

Success!
My timing was indeed retarded, perhaps not as much as the owner, but close
Got the full boogie screw back in the ballpark and ohhh MAN is it awesome to drive! While the pump top was off, I was able to break loose the low idle screw, so now I got another 1/4 turn of full fuel and 800 rpm idle. The truck is just flat awsome to drive
Wound her out just once on the way home from lunch--4-5 shift came at 75, grabbed 5th at about 2k rpms and she pushed me back in the seat just as hard as it did in 3rd at 45mph!!This thread got winding round and round, but the moral is DO purchace the $15 gov spring and DO take detailed notes as you disassemble!

I had to pull the pump pretty far back to get the top off and I prolly only returned it halfway on my first try
blue smoke and sputter ensued. Went out with 1/2'' wrench and a pry bar this AM, cranked the pump toward the valve cover and found my original marks
now I'm all

Yeah let us know if you find a fix to the pulling problem.
I have my spring in the truck ready to go in, now I just need to find some of that time every body talks about so I can put it in. I'm excited about how well this things gonna run with the 3200gsk spring.
