Finished up the goose hitch in the dodge this weekend. Had to take it back out and add some more steel to stiffen it up. Solid now.

Made mostly of 6x.5 and a few other pieces. The 2.5x.375 straps on the outer sides are what I had to add to stiffen it front to back. The original design with only the stiffener down the middle was not boxed enough to keep it from rocking under heavy load (trailer with the loader on it and jabbing the brakes).
Proving it works :lol:
That skid steer weighs in at around 6000lbs IIRC

The last time I hauled a skid steer I had it in a 10' dump trailer on a regular bumper hitch. It really sagged bad, but I now have overloads should do better if not them goose neck it where I'm headed as well. You truck looks sweet hitched up
It takes alot to make my truck sag in the back, that loader just gets it so set on the overloads.
Should a washed it up for the pics!
That is a Load Trail brand trailer http://loadtrail.com/ . LoadMax series low deck. Very nice trailer for the price I thought. 3" channel stringers on 16" centers, 8" I beam goose, 7K axles with brakes on both, fold up ramps, ect... I own half of it, going to try sharing it with dad. That is his loader and KS Klipper. I got it to haul my rock crawler on around the US. Will be using it next month to goto Disney OK, Moab UT memorial weekend, as many trips as I can afford the $3.59 diesel for!

If that's a 260 the JD spec sheet has it at;
Operating Weight . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 8,250 lb. (3742 kg)
I don't know if they rate theirs with the bucket and tires, New Holland didn't a few years ago. Just wanted you to know, it's heavy!

I read that. I figured operating weight was with a fully loaded bucket... maybe not. I am going to have to go by the elevator and see I guess
I do know it is about all my truck wants to pull up the longer hills and still maintain 70mph in 5th. Will be pushing 30psi and 1200deg at the top. Time for some better exhaust I guess!

If that is the case I am pretty impressed with my truck then, had never pulled anything more than about 7K total before this. I tried 63 in forth on a few hills as an experiment, alot easier on things. 65 is all she has got on the governor.

tow in 4th on the long pulls, your tranny will love you. Who cares about keeping up with a brand new chipped dually, ugly, pos that will be in the scrap yard in 5-8 years. We have a set up nearly identical to yours, 4th gear, all day, ANY grade, manageable egts w/o watermeth and stock turbo.plus a way cooler truck.(with a few bumps and bruises)
Nice.
One thing I would do is add some bracing between the front-middle-back reinforcment plates. I had one somewhat similar, some company made it, and it bent down in LA on I55 with the little bumps in the road. The truck was going up and down like a joy ride with about 15k on the back of it. If you add those, it won't flex front to back as easily.
Nice job. I like you welds, they are better than mine.
