yea if there are any parts left on them. On a club cab the drive shafts will work. Standard cab you might length your front depending on your ride height.

salvage yard? good luck.
Check ebay often, I see them go all the time, guys part the trucks and use the motors and have the auto tranny stuff laying around they don't want, or the guys doing 5 speed swaps to their automatic trucks.

I belive FREE89W350 got his A518 rebuilt for $900. stock rebuild. your 727 should be cheaper to get rebuilt, a good tranny guy can rebuild one with a blindfold on.

Depending on what you're doing, i can't imagine you needing a beefy rebuild on your TF727 if you just wanna have more power. If you're sled pulling and stuff then yea some hard parts like clutches and all that good stuff would be good. You know what i mean, anything over the ordinary.

Gotta remember we're talking about a TF 727 here, guys have been running 600HP+ of mopar big block (383 & 440) into these things with nothing but a manual valve body in them for years and years....

Free89w250 had a connection with his builder so i would think taking it to most other shops it would cost more.

My 727 4wd trans is about 5" shorter than the 47rh 4wd I'm going to put in, so the driveshafts will have to be adjusted accordingly

yes, i forgot you had a 727. you will need to have them adjusted. Going from a 518 to a 47rh you do not.

$750-1,000 wouldn't be a bad price at all for an auto tranny rebuild and especially if it's done right and by a shop that you can trust. This coming spring I'm going to be removing the 518 auto from my truck to at least replace the factory pile of junk Chrysler called a torque converter with a Goerend. At that point I'm thinking it's the best time to go have it rebuilt since it will be out of truck and on the ground, but I'm thinking it may not even need it with only 128,000 miles on the truck. It doesn't show any signs of problems anywhere, except acceleration isn't as good as it could be because of the stock converter. I got a local trans shop up in Hanover, PA that I'd most likely look into and possibly trust for any work I'd need done on it. It's just whether I decide to get it rebuilt or not. Given the mileage it may not need it, but the HP/TRQ will be increased to outputs a lot more then what is in my sig right now and to have a fresh trans behind the engine power increases would be intelligent. Choices, choices right? If I don't consider a rebuild I would probably still send it to the shop to have a better valve body and shift kit installed. Those mods with a torque converter would probably be the best I'd be able to do. As long as it would hold 350-400 horsies I think I'd be good to go. Oh, and I do have the factory under the bed auxiliary trans cooler but it's not hooked up yet. I'll be thinking about getting that connected in with the trans especially after it's worked on.

With a stall speed of 3800, it must be for a gas burner.

haha, good luck. I have been waiting for a week and a half with several phone calls in between for a response. I don't know if this is normal but i am starting to get frustrated.

When I was considering getting a Goerend converter (still on my to do list) Philip told me the best course of action is to rebuild the tranny while you have it out. I will save you money in the long run, especially if you aren't the one doing it.

A new valve body and shift kit would be a really good idea too.

For what it's worth, Dave Goerend claims that a bone stock tranny, with the addition of one of his converters will hold up to 300rwhp.

Good luck.
