MTL is a 70W80 gear oil.
Gear oils and engine oils are rated on different scales, the MTL is roughly equivalent to a 5W30 motor oil. When you dump it in it looks and pours like ATF. Just for comparison, the Redline MT-90 is a 75W90 gear oil, and is about the same as 15W-40 motor oil.
