Gear Vender update, mileage!!

Well it been a couple of week now and have been trying to drive ......a.......less agressive

two week of city driving and filled my tank ,to go on a road trip to find a new truck, camper.
256 miles@14.8 gal=17.29
Spent most of the day on the freeway but some city driving, trying to find the 2 diff camper sales places, and the drive home.
Refueled when we got home and went, 292 miles and 13.68 Gal.=21.34 mpg Yaaaaaaa
the best milege i could get out of the truck before was 15/17mpg
i real didn't think that i would gain any city mileage and was vary happy with the highway mileage, especially sence we drove 80-85 (and it was really comfertable) all the way there and back and before (w/out the GV) it would have been 65-70
+2 city +4 highway

I would have to go out and drive it again to be shore but it seam like it was 17 or 1800 rpm compared to around 2500. it real cool cus 65-70 is when i shift to GV over drive and the truck just get a lot quieter!

while i was on my trip yesterday i past a first gen diesel that had to of had close to my set up (- the GV) cus as i past him at 75 you could her that diesel just a humming, some thing that i wouldn't have even been able to Hear before!!
its so nice to be the one in the fast lane insteed of the slow lane, just a pluging along.

Edit sorry just ramboling on tires are 235/75/16....4:10 rear gears!

235-75's?! Those are trailer tires! Combined with those 4.10's you can probably hit top gear in the driveway! Sounds like the GV is the ticket--I know I'm jealous!

I had a 727 auto with 3.07's and looked into GV but wanted to stiwth to a 5s- instead so no gv for me, but 55 is almost too slow for 5th gear with 3.07's.

I'd like to see that setup with a gear vendor added you could just let it idle on the highway at 70-75 or so

4.10 gears with the G/V =3.20 final drive
3.08 gears in 5th Getrag =2.37 " " With a G/V= 1.87:1/ 1574rpm at 70mph
3.08 gears 518 auto in o/d +G/V=1.66:1 1392rpm at 70mph
Check this lot of fun to play with http://www.4lo.com/calc/gearratio.htm
