Gear Vender Dayview!!!!
Gear Vender Dayview!!!!
First off i love my Gear Vender and being able spit gears, espesuly when some one get in you way, and you have to go down to 3d gear, you can't wined it tight enuff to make it pull in 4th. With 3d and over you can get to 4th....thats coool
as far as fuel mileage go.....well....we had a vary vary bad head wind from SLC to ST.George and got 13.5 mpg.
running around town I got 15.1 mpg. and on the way home, with 1 wave runner on my flat bed trailer... (O
on the way down i had a 1500 pound trailer with a 93 honda sivic on it!!)
and running 80 to 90
(it realy ran smooth at that speed, and i wanted to get home!)all the way home with a fue cross winds and got 15.6 mpg
Before the Gear Vender i was pulling more weight(cuda 3450 pounds)and could only do 65 mph and would get 14 to 15 mpg so consitering the speed and the wall of air these truck push, i think the over drive gave me better mileage even thought the numbers dont realy show it!
allso if i tryed to push the truck to run 75 mph (Before the over drive unit) i couldn't get 13 out of it.
So the best fuel mileage is still yet to be found and the Gear Vender worked flawlessly, glad that i invested in it even though it toke me several years to convince my self to spend that kind of cash!

Do you have to move the speedo cable to a port on the GV or does it stay in the stock location? I used to drive trucks with the two speed rearend gears and the speedo and odo were always off anytime you are in the lower gears. The only reason I ask is that would have a big effect on you milage if your odo is going faster in the split gears, but I dont know how your gear vender works but I would think they have simialar ratios.

Ya it would be.
No the GV has a speedo housing in the end of it and a short pease of cable to make up the diff and a plastic gear in it, mine was black for 4:10 gears and i now it's acturate becuse i has to go throw construction and thay had one of those speed checkers and it said that i was doing 70 and my speedo said i was doing 72....Close enuff
