Question Gauges acting screwy????Help??

Alright guys this is the deal,I installed a horn button this weekend.Manual button ,I did not hook it up in stock form.Anyway I took the dash console apart to get to where I needed to get.Unplugged the round plug thing and everything .Well now for some reason when Im driving my oil pressure gauge, and my temperature gauge want to run higher than ever before. They dont stay high but just kinda go way up and then drop back to normal. Is there anything I could have done to cause this.i.e. that plug?Does it go back together a certain way or does this have nothing to do with it? Any help would be great.Ive never had any over heating issues in the past.
