I wouldn't worry about it. Take it out and give it some more travel. I can hit 3800rpm if i hold it open locked in 1st gear but thats as far as i dare go. You'll be able to tell how high your rpms are by ear before it gets dangerous.

I backed the screw off two turns last night. I need to adjust the pedal itself to get any more out of it anyway. I already moved the linkage to the inside hole on the throttle shaft. I took it out on the highway and I must say I was impressed. It smokes quite a bit more, and it hangs in there longer with boost. It doesn't fall on it's face in the high end like it used to. I always thought that the top end just sucked cuz it's a low-end-torque motor. I stopped at 60mph in 3rd gear, and skipped 4th gear for the first time. I am gonna have to play with the linkage/go pedal some more.

BTW, the coolest thing about and performance mods is how much more responsive that pedal gets as I progress. Maybe I will mess with it some more after my last exam tomorrow. lol

The only thing I noticed was it being harder to hold a steady speed. More touchy. As far as more power, I hardly ever floor it so I don't know,,, yet.
Next I'll start on the 92. I have already ran into issues with the TPS and the bracket limit notch, so I have a file ready for it. The question I have then is the transmission cable. What do I need to watch out for when increasing the throttle travel there?

2 problems :
1st Make sure the cable doesn't bind with the throttle wide open. That can be done sitting still - block the throttle or have someone floor it while you are under the truck.
Obviously with the engine NOT running.
2nd Little more complicated....Since you have more travel, the TV will move further causing the tranny to shift later. Mine didn't want to shift at all when floored. Then when you back off a little - wham 2nd gear...Same from 2nd to 3rd except the wham was slightly less because that shift is a clutch shift as opposed to a band shift from 1st to 2nd.
Floored 1st was holding until 40+ when I backed off and 2nd held past 70....

Playing with the settings will get you better shift points but then with light throttle you will shift out of 1st at ~ 12mph and out of 2nd at ~ 18mph.

Got to play to get what you want.

Thanks unixcowboy. I pried the cover off and got about 4 turns before the lever hit the fuel supply line I guess it's die grinder time. Ooooo, power tools! While I was there, I filed the notch for the TPS drive. That should fix my OD delay. Kinda looks like I don't need to move the link ball on this one. It has more peddle travel than the other

Lever hit fuel supply line ? ? ? ? ?

My throttle goes from pump body at idle to pump body at WOT and doesn't hit the fuel lines anywhere....

Well - it used to. Since I've backed down ( ) the power screw trying to get a little better mileage I actually turned UP the idle screw. These 6x.016's sure dump the fuel.
Since they smoke so much and WOT temps are totally out of control I thought I'd drop off the power 'til I get things sorted out.

My 91 swings over the top of the fuel line bend with room to spare. The 92, I will either have to grind that little tab off the side of the lever or shorten the fuel line to drop the bend below the lever like the 91.

More air or less fuel. What a tangled web we weave.

Yeah I noticed on mine, it rubs right over the fuel line too, I might take the throttle shaft off and put a washer or somethin in there so it wont rub. It'll still get up over it though instead of stoppin it.

Wait 'til you get bigger sticks
My turbo will push lots of psi and I know it's cooler air because I've got a manifold temp probe and it's ~ 50* cooler than the H1C. THAT turbo didn't like the 6x.016's at all !!!

I've given up on turning down the power screw to control temps, all I accomplished is killing the performance. Guess I'll run the screw back up to runaway and set the high idle screw to limit full throttle travel - -
but that's going to kill the performance.....

Dam#$&^%#$% guess it's time for twins. All I need is the $$$
