Fuel System Upgrade!!

Thought I would share with you guys the fuel system upgrades I just got done putting on my truck. It now has all 1/2" lines from the tank to the injection pump. I made my own 1/2" draw straw from stuff at the hardware store, and have a 1/2" inlet fitting at the injection pump. Im using a High Flow filter head mounted on the frame rail, with shut off valves on both ends to aid in filter service. Im running a carter 100gph electric pump and its making 17psi at idle and 12psi at wot.

any pressure regulator needed? Where did you get that carter pump? Seems the regulators that are any good cost so darn much, this sounds more like what I'd be interested in. I need to do this, my diaphram pump is holding me back BIG TIME!

I know what your sayin! No regulator needed Its a max of 18psi and with the slight pressure drop through the filter its pefect. So I had to try it. It made so much difference on the road you can mash the throttle and it just takes off no hesitation any more. Very happy with it.

I"m pretty sure when you figure in all the parts you need to put in your piston pump, it comes out to $300 as well I'm told?

Obviously you'll have to buy some hose and fittings etc for the electric one too. I plan on keeping my stock LP in parallel with check valves incase the electric one ever kicks the bucket miles from home.

I agree, and if I had an electric, I would keep a spare in the truck.
