Fuel screw measurement??

I was messing with my pump today and was only able to turn it 1/2 turn in untill it bottomed out.. When reving it up, it would hang pretty good up around 2800-3k then back down.. So it must have been pretty close to runaway... But I went for a drive and the boost was up to maybe 31 and the egt couldn't get over 1200 locked up wot 50-85.. So I really wasn't impressed..

The question is, can a few of you guys near runaway measure the distance from the backside of the nut "the side facing the cab" to the end of the fuel screw.. I am at .625 about... Went and measured my dump truck which is barely over stock and it is the same... I know all the pumps are a bit different, but some of them have to be pretty close.. thanks guys

Mine did the same thing I had to pull the screw out of the pump and add a piece to the end of the screw. I added with weld only needed like 3/16".

I don't think you would want to add any more to the fuel beings that your RPM's are already hanging. I think what you need are some bigger injectors

I agree with archer. Need bigger sticks. The stockers are junk. I have my 93 maxed out and it gets like 32 psi and 1200 degrees. That is with the 60mm GDS. I am replacing mine with 6x16's and I am sure it will require me to back the fuel screw way back out. The stock 4x12's that my 89 has put the 6x9's to shame.

Ya.. probably gonna go with the DDP4's when the time comes.. Tell ya the truth I would rather find a p-pumped motor to tinker with in the shop for a yr or so then put that in.. Don't hate on me for saying that either!! My motor was beat real bad an makes a little more rattle than the norm.. So I really don't care what happens to it to be honest.. Maybe if I have a real bad day, I will video record what happens when a motor runs away that doesn't get choked off!!

maybe on that real bad day, maybe you could put a straw on the suction side of the turbo and down into the deep part of the oil pan.

I would hate to see the poor VE go to waste but p-pumped first gens are pretty cool. Just make sure you are standing far enough away in case something lets lose
