Well, there is really no easy way, but I found the least difficult way is to have one hand on a 13mm (or whatever size the jam nut is) around the jam nut and then get a good long flat head (at least 14") and feed it in from the rear of the block through all the brackets and fuel lines.

That's how I do it. The newer IC models have a 7 or 8mm head that you can get a socket on but we aren't that lucky
