Question Fuel pin question?

I thought brother ordered the ol smoky pin last week as we discused, turns out he got the 3200 spring from a local cummins house, and has left several messages for info the buy the ol smoky pin as advertised on this site. No call backs been a week ive seen mintain of a bd pin on here, is this the same if not which is better. The other option i quess is play with it your self, we would rather spend the money get something alreadyed enginered and proven. Any thoughts and since he cant get in touch with the guy we have no ideal what the pins cost?

Just grind your own pin and save money. I ground my own in 15 minutes and I noticed a heck of a difference in power gains. In my opinion the BD pin sucks! (please no hating) It gets big track marks on it from the fuel pin griding up and down on it and it. The bd pin is too weak. Save money and grind your own first, If you don't like it then buy an aftermarket pin!

The original Ol' Smoky pin can be had for around $125 or so. Mine shows no signs of grooving yet.

I ground my own pin it's a little extreme but it works nice .

Stocker on left Mine on right

If you do grind your own make sure that you get the surface of the grind real smooth. I used a grinder with a cut off wheel for the initial grind and a dremel with some polishing compound for the "smoothing". You want to make sure that when you run your finger nail over the surface that it doesn't get hung up and is smooth otherwise the pin that rides in that spot will get hung up.

You buy the new one for 165.00. Then you send the old one back to them and they'll refund you a 100.00. When it is all said, and done it costs 65.00

Hope this clears this up for you, Tony.

I just ground my fuel pin yesterday morning before work. Took bout 30min. to have it back in and ready to test. Made a very noticeable power gain. I would recomend doing it yourself for time and $ reasons, but if youre gonna order one I would go with PDR. Have fun!

Thanks, were did you get the insight to mod your own. The picture that Free89W350 posts looks like something that would need to be cut in a lath that i dont have how else are you cuting them. Ive always done all my own work but this just seems like something that needs to be done right. I think ill get on from pdr thats hopfully tested, and a proven power maker. I like the thought of doing it but wouldnt know were to start and even worse prob.;[ like Free89W350 ] wouldnt know were to STOP. Looks good by the way, also looks like you like you like to push things to the limit as i do!

Ol' Smokey lurks but doesn't seem to seek. Search and you'll get his handle and send him a PM.

Free89w350, what's holding that pin together? Air?
