I did just over 600 miles (!) and filled up 24.2 gallons ~ 25 mpg... all in one trip up 5 and 97 from california to washington state @ staying between 60-65mph. 3.07/getrag gets the job done, wonder what our rigs would do with even HIGHER gearing..

I get 16-17 mostly highway with my 4.10's. I ran a set of 3.54's for a couple months, got 19-20. I'd have to say the 4.10's are worth the loss of mileage, the trucks got so much more pop.

olddodgetrucks- what do youhave for a set up- tranny, gears, general build (4x4 dually, or 2wd SRW)? That is outstanding.

I had an intercooled 91 SRW with 3.54 and 5spd that got 22-24 consistently, and I couldnt set it up to NOT smoke. I figure with good injectors (185s were $250 a set then), it could have topped 25.

I'm keeping a casual eye out for a set of 3.07s, but with a p/u bed now, my only option is a p/u dually rear. WIth the flatbed, I had some wiggle room- either dually axle would have worked.

Keep your foot out of it for 500-1000mi and see if it's still the same.

Daniel

Best I ever got in my 06 was 25.9 doing 60 for 3/4 of a tank, 373`s auto 2 wheel drive, but I only got that once in 30,000 but I do get 23 to 24 on the highway average at 65 , all figured on paper, so Im a very happy camper

At 65 mph, 550 to 600 egt, just under 2200 rpm, with 3.07's and a 727, 4x4, all 90% highway I got 18.2 mpg. I was hoping for a little more though.
