Talking Fuel Mileage bragging rights!

Here goes...211 miles, 7.60 gallons....drum roll.....27.82 mpg!!!!

Not bad for 'a smoke blowing ol rig'... I usually check it over a full tank, but this was 2 trips to work and a couple to school. Figured goin to the strip tomorrow would hurt it. Most of this was driving at 70mph. One way to work is 50 miles, 5 in city, 3 stop lights, 5 stop signs...plus I blew smoke and dusted 2 people who aggravated me. So this wasnt strictly highway. Hopefully one of these days ( maybe sunday) I will be able to take her out on the interstate and cruise at 70, just see what kinda mileage I can rack up.

Anyone else got some mileage bragging rights, or care to argue that mine arent???

Exactly why I want to try 3.07's. I had a 91.5 D250 5 sp w/ 3.54's that got 23.8 one time, always got 20+

I average 20, used to rather. Now it seems Im finally able to control the skinny pedal a little better. 100 mile round trip to work and $3.10 a gallon diesel, I need all the help I can get.

Youre doing better than I did. With 3.07 auto, I averaged high 17s,as low as 15. College town= too many challenges. Best I saw was in my unmodded rig was 21.5 on the highway. Smoked that record now lol.

For a while i was driving practically from state line to state line in Louisiana on I-20 (women!) Doing 80 the whole trip except in One town that slows to 60. Never got below 20. Usually 21 and some change. If i take it easy on her she gets 23-25. 3.5s and 5 speed. 235/85/16.
