I think I am happy with 16. As big as it is, not nearly as big as yours but it is big .. It is not as quick when it was a standard cab and 265 tires thou. Will need to do some tweaking later.

Seeing 19.2 & 19.7mpg lately for combined city/hwy, most of
that in town. Have yet to make a road trip. (All stock)
Can't complain!

Sounds just about the same as mine. I was getting around 18-19, but on the first full tank since the intake, turbo, and turning the fuel screw in more, I got a 19.7 on a 750-ish mile tank. That was rolling some coal and not really highway miles either! Leaving tomorrow for an 8 hour road trip, so we'll see what that nets.

Just got back from a trip, ran out two and a half tanks with O/D off and cruse on set at 55 mph, got 13.9 out of one tank and 14.8 out of another, with this in the bed.

tranny temp was to high to leave it in O/D even with an aftermarket cooler with fan. guess it's really time for a converter.

At 55, I get almost 20 mpg pulling a 14' flatbed trailer loaded down. get the same without the trailer. Ext cab, 3.54, 518. One day I'll get a Goehrend convertor. Can't do over 55 without wheel hop.

My W250 is completely stock, the smoke screw cover hasn't even been pryed off and I get 19.2 every tank full. Now I only drive 65 mph max cause the transfer case wants to come and sit with me in the cab, LOL. I can't get mine to smoke at all in the daylite but when some dope is tailgateing me at nite, I'll slowly bring it up to 73 mph so they'll follow close and then I'll pin the pedal to the floor and in his headlites they'll get blasted with the prettest Diesel haze, they fall back pretty fast.

I drove up to Apple Valley, CA today for some parts and filled up before I left. 193 miles round trip and still have just under 3/4 of a tank (~8gals used). Half of the trip there was ascending a 6% grade. Calculated out to 24.1mpg. Ok, so maybe descending the 6% grade aided some . Around town, back and forth to work, 14mpg . I'm hoping a custom tuned injection pump may help. It'll be hard to keep my foot out of it for a while though .

Nice 1STGENFARMBOY. I can see why that would be straining the 518. My "super cooler" fan comes on even without a load and that is quite the load you have!

Hey Dar,

Are you going to paint that giant "sunvisor" you have on your truck from the white whale color to the silver / green combo. That's one big heavy sunvisor.... !
