Front end weight

Anyone know the weight on the axle of a 92 w350 cummins reg cab? I know the axle is rated for 4500 lbs. I want to put a plow on it and need to know how much weight I have to deal with. The reason I ask is one of the plow companies didn't make a bracket for my truck and said because of the diesel the weight would be to much for the front axle.

Lot's of em have plows without problems. To answer your qustion, the engine is in the 1000lb range, as opposed to a 500 lb gasser. The bumper I'd like to build is gonna push 500lbs. If GM IFS will hold their plow, you don't have anything to worry about.

I am also going to put a plow on my truck soon. I don't think you will have a problem with the axle. I am concerned about my springs. With out the plow I have maybe 2" of travel so with the plow I think I am going to need new springs.
