I have not checked the U- joints. I'm not sure I understand how this could be causing the problem. I'm not questioning what you say it's just that my knowledge of how the U-joints function and how they could be causing the problem is a little past my mechanical understanding. But if the U-joints are causing the problem and I release the tie rod end on each wheel will the wobble be obvious? I'm not feeling any binding or sudden release in the steering.<br><br>I have thought about replacing the steering shaft but I thought I would try the cheeper, easier fixes first. How do you check and then adjust the play in the steering box? There doesn't appear to be a lot of extra play in the steering wheel when I'm driving. Although the steering stabilizer did seem to make a noticable difference in the feel of the steering - it's much firmer now.<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Barry
