Frame Flex
Frame Flex
So i finally got x-over steering done to the big DODGE at my friends shop, steering box moved back to prevent the pitman arm from hitting the frame, heavy duty tie-rod and GM (
) 1ton tie rod ends, passenger side steering arm (no block) and borgeson shaft, truck is basicaly done...But we are getting terrible frame flex. They put stiffeners on there and it seemed they helped very little, would boxing the frame cure this? is there anything other than boxing the frame to help this? Ideas for a cross member maybe?
any help is appreciated.

in what direction is the frame flexing? front to back or side to side? they are supposed to have some side to side flex. Front to back flex not good. Boxing of the frame in key areas would help this. This is based only on my opion and previous experience though.
i have the same setup on mine and it doesnt flex at all.one thing i did was take the adapter bracket that originally held box to frame and trimmed it to fit inside frame and i have never had any troubles at all
There are reinforcement brackets being reproduced by Dodge Connection $48.00
