Nice truck. Not $20K nice, but maybe $12.5K. It is an 89, no extended cab, etc.

thingie on the shifter is likely for the exhaust brake. Not sure why, but some people like the switch there. I prefer it on the dash so I can just flip it on and let it hiss whenever I take my foot off the accelerator.

I would like it on the shifter. My hand goes to it when I down-shift and when I am towing I keep my hand there when going up or down hills (I have yet to down-shift going up a hill because the engine can't keep up )

Get some more fuel, and EGt will determine downshfit points. Of course, if you start at a high enough RPM, it isnt an issue.

If you keep your hand on the shifter too hard, you can wear your shift forks.

Naw, DP. I don't need it. I was just saying I have yet to do a down-shift cause the hill was too much.

I rest my hand very lightly on the shifter. I know I can where them out. I just keep it touching lightly as I almost had a accident once when I went to down-shift when I car pulled out in front of me. I was very glad I was going up hill and shifting up. That down shift saved some mega $$$. Of course, then it was fun to pass them up hill, and throw the truck into a higher gear and smoke them out

That truck is

Its about as brown as you can get short of driving a ups truck, the bed is not exactly eye catching, and the motorhome simulators need tossed into the scrap bin.

I'd still take it though

As for the exhasut brake, mine is on the shifter. I turn it on and leave it until I am sitting at a light. The switch on the throttle linkage does the rest. I am thinking about moving it, though not because of the location. The shifter makes it vibrate and it drives me nuts.

Nice catch, u beat me too it.

Exactly, 3" dp, then 3.5" all the way to the back. The '93 I just bought has it and the Technicooler on it.
