Found a donor crew cab
I found a 84 Dodge 1 ton crew cab short bed 4wd on craigslist. Has auto, np205tc, no engine, no rearend. extra doors. $800. Sounds like a great deal to me, any input? Body looks straight.
Be sure it actually has the front 60 still under it. I've seen people stick an 8 lug 44 under the front and then play dumb. Dee, Duhh, I don't know boss, it was like that when I dun got it, DERRRR....

It is a Dana 44 8 lug, he claims out of a dodge military ton and a quarter. Ive got connections for a dana 60 though. As far as getting it home goes i have a trailer he has a tractor, as do I. no biggie there. Now just gotta see if my dad will let me bring another truck out to the ranch. (ive got 2 already and my bro has 3)

HAHA! sounds all good, except for one thing. I either got to get the trailer by him or use his dmax to pull the gooseneck (just cause i dont have a hitch, definitely not because lack of power). Well find out today if Ill be seeking permission or forgiveness. Wish me luck. It really will be following me home...hmmmm

Thats what Im thinking. Dana 60 front and 70 or 80 rear out of a 2nd gen so I can use 2nd gen wheels and caps, seats out of a 3rd gen, 12v and a 6sp. Hmmm...would a late 2nd gen dash fit a first genner? If not Id just piece together a clean 1st gen interior. Top it off with a clean burgundy, blue, or green over tan, and Id have one nice custom crewcab. Okay I woke up now from my dreaming. its all possible, but way in the future since Im on a college kids budget.

I got a few options here.
1) I can buy his crew cab for 800. He also has a 92 d250 107k showing, good engine, getrag (to get me started) recently rebuilt, rebuilt rearend, on bad body for $2500. maybe I could get both for $2800.
2)Get the crew cab, and I found another diesel on craigs list-92 w250, 220k on clock, rebuilt rear, d60 front, good engine, good transfercase, good tranny. Only needs body work and electrical work, $3200. All the drivetrain I would need, except a newer manual tranny maybe.
3) The wisest-save my money and watch yall build nice stuff until I get out of college in 3 years, maybe more.
