Found a Brand New HX35 for sale

Brand new in box holset hx35, wastegate and everything.
He's asking $275 OBO.
Whats a good price for these?
I just picked up my first diesel (always wanted one) for a project truck.
It's a rusty, stock, leak free 89 d250 ctd 727.
Runs/shifts great, drove it home for $1,200.
I'm in the learning stage on turbos, I hear this is a good upgrade from the H1c?
Isn't this turbo 12cm?
Being a non i/c truck, would the 12cm drive up my egt which im trying to keep down.
After the body work is done, i would like to start playing with the truck (pump/turbo/gauges/intake/exhaust/maybe injectors)?
Is this turbo even a good candidate for non i/c 727 trucks?

Any info is appreciated...Thanks, Brian

Thats a good price if its NEW! not an awesome deal but its ok.

It'll be awesome for spool up around town but once you add fuel it'll get hot on the top end with no i/c... yes HX35 is 12cm exhaust housing and has a 56mm compressor compared to your stock 50mm compressor and smaller air inlet

The HX35 has a bigger compressor wheel compared to the "baby" H1c that is on your truck now and the hx35 has a mwe slot in the compressor for a nice whistle

A good start for more air & power is this kit- http://www.gillettdiesel.com/upgrade...combo60mm.aspx It adds a full 10mm to your compressor wheel size (part that pushes air). Your stock 18.5 cm exh. housing on the truck now usually spools good with some little pump tweaks. you'll have to get a reducer boot to go from the turbo to crossover pipe or just upgrade the whole crossover pipe to flow more air and match up to the turbo. Or you could add an intercooler setup

Your truck being a Non intercooled truck already has large injectors for stock, compared to a 91.5-93 I/c truck's injectors... non i/c injectors are big and are good to 350hp+. You'll almost never have to upgrade them.

Your gonna need gauges to start off, few pump tweaks on a Non i/c truck and things will get toasty. Pre turbo Pyro 1500*, 60psi boost, fuel pressure, are 3 good ones.

Heres my list of what i'd do.

BHAF (big honkin air filter) (see sticky thread for details)
4" downpipe and 4" exhaust.
3200 rpm governor spring!!! <<<<< best ever mod.
Gauges
60mm GDS compressor wheel kit
Upgrade turbo crossover pipe to 2.5" with pipe and two silicone boots
get rid of stock sloppy Torque converter (i recommend www.goerend.com for a good tight torque converter)
DennyT fuel pin- www.dennytperformance.com/products
1/8 bump timing and tweak away at the pump till EGT"s get high
adjust throttle rod to inner hole on linkage for easier th

Hope this helps,
Check out the sticky at the top of the 1st gen forum board, You can live off this thread when it comes to everything, scroll down for performance https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-f93.html?f=93

remember your power is no good if its not getting to the ground (torque converter). It'll make it feel like a total different truck when your power is to the ground. a transgo shift kit would do the transmission good too.

hope this helps, Brandon
get ready to catch the "diesel bug"
