If you have a helper it will go alot faster but shouldn't take more then 3 hour's each way taking it apart with be hardest but then going back together should be faster because you will know where everything goes .

I would say simplsmn is about right. It took me about that much time in my shop on the floor using a tranny jack. I found it was easiest to take the transfer case off first. When I put it back in it took a little longer because my cab mounts are shot and there is a body seam in the way.

I always Pull the tranny and tcase as a unit, I use an ATV jack.

Usually takes me about 30-45 minutes for it to be on the ground then about an hour for re assembly

I like that idea but the one I got only lifts about 14 inches and I dont think I'd like to balance the two units.

Could you please post a pic of yours.

It actually balances fairly well, The crossmember stats bolted to the Tranny/Tcase combo.

I do have to use some 4x4 blocks though.

Put this in the stickies.

Thank you Pulltilbroke

That pic is worth 1000 word times a billion.

That jack would also come in VERY useful on the R&R of the flywheel.
First time I removed the FW I thought it weighed more than truck.
There is a reminder (chunk missing) in the garage floor when that sucker hit.

I am sure that an atv jack is the same, but I use a motorcycle jack, works like a charm. Ironically, the motorcycle jack doesn't work on my Kawasaki and I have to use a floor jack, go figure ...I always pull the tc, mostly because I am usually working alone and it is easier to handle...Mark
