Flow?

How much difference, if any, is there between a stock replacement K&N filter and an aftermarket BHAF? And where can I get a pre-filter for my K&N?

I'd just go amsoil nanofibre filter and prefilter, but that's just me.

I already have a stock replacement K&N. (Bought it before I found this site) I just want to know if I should get something better before I finish my intake setup?

Agree'd...Put one on the 3rd GEN. And on the 1st GEN. Will never use an oiled filter. Too much trouble. The dry filters with a pre filter is a much better choice. Had a AFE oiled filter on our 3rd GEN. Nothing but trouble.

I saw a test on the internet, the guy sampled 12 different air filters, high flow cotton to stock papers.

Amsoil high flow foam and fram paper were the worst filters.

here's the link- http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest3.htm

Thats confusing. The AMSOIL nanofibre is not a foam filter.

Awesome. Since nobody knows the difference between the K&N or a BHAF, I will keep the K&N.

you might have to call them and ask. they have to make it. i actually have the same k&n replacement filter and since you brought up the idea of a pre-filter i think i might get one too.

Yeah. I'm sick of trying to scrape bugs out of it.

Yeah i love my Amsoil dry filter too. I hate oilin and cleanin. I'm sure you could sell your K&N and get an Ams one. I just put the Amsoil pre filter on mine too and i like it. I got the pre filter cuz with my hood stack and the hole in my hood, if the wind is blowin just right it will blow some snow into my engine bay and i didn't want my filter to get wet so i got a pre filter, and it will keep bugs, twigs, and leaves out better

I was running the K&N replacement filter but kept getting a fine coating of dust in the intake hose. Now I have a stock Napa paper filter until I do a BHAF.
