Had a first gen....loved it to death...now have a second gen, love it even more (no more dents in the roof from my head). I do fear the fuel delivery needs some attention, but heck, whats a truck anyway if you don't make modifications to make it your own. I say as long as its mine, I'll love it!

My hats off to the guy who coined the phrase, "Dodge made a truck after 1993"

I think we've got the best trucks out there with the biggest hearts. You don't see as many of our trucks on the road like the newer ones, we cherish our trucks .

I love mine and will never sell it to get a newer one .

They are truly unique. A little bit of old, a little of new, with one great engine.
Having had one of each generation, I'm keeping my 93 for a long time.

out of all the trucks ive ever owned this one has to be my downright favorite. its tough, reliable, and so easy to squeeze out more HP. i think ill run this one till 1,000,000 miles. even if it means some work

My 94 has all the mods and new paint and stuff but it is parked in the winter and the old 92 work horse takes over . Its not as smooth, tight, quiet, or powerful as the 2nd gen but it just keeps running. It hauls the horse trailer up and down the road with no trouble so far, plus it starts good in cold weather. Just wish I had a DTT tranny in it too. That would sure make it special....

Talking

IMO our fist gen truck have the best combination of parts for longevity and cost of replacement. There isn't a light-duty truck made now that has anywhere near the drivetrain strength that these trucks have.

Piers summed it up real well with these t-shirts.

I have one of each. The 96 makes more power and is a lot easyer to get a lot more than the 1st gen, but I have a prety hot 1st gen and would never trade, or sell it. The 1st Gen has a loyalty that will never be had for any other truck by any one. I would sell my '67 SS 396 Elcamino with M22 4spd, full outo meter ultra-light dash and all the works befor I would part with my 1st gen. It was the first diesel I ever had. Yes the electrical sucks and the bodys have some week spots but the drive train is unbeatable (well once you put a NV4500 in it ). I was a hard core Chevy guy, had a '87, '76 trucks that were bilt like a tank and only had like 3 wires in the 76. I am not a dodge fan but they can sure pick some realy good parts.

there used to be a guy aroung my house that had a 93-94 4x4, it was a reg cab with a shortbox, not sure the 2500-3500 series but because of the SB i am pretty sure he put it together in his garage. andway other than the cummin's c badging and a big chrome 4x4 on the grille everything esle was glossy black. that truck just looked mean, but i never knew anything about deisel, and i always thought, noisy, stinky ,dirty , gutless deisel. untill one day i pulled beside him at a light in my camaro ( 02, SS ls1 sixspeed conv, all black) he started revin and i nodded to go, ( he had crazy tint so i don't know if he aknogleded me or not , all i remember is him burying me in a big balck cloud) the light turned , and i hhoked awesome!! probally my best ever, but to know avail, he dropped a mushroom cloud all around me and when i hit second and got outa it, he was 8 lenghts ahead of me, and handed me my stink in a paper bag!!! needless to say i needed, no!! I absolutly had to have a CUMMINS after that.

I'd say that it takes a little more love to appreciate a 1st Gen, mostly due to the ride and the looks. The gen 2 outfits are a little more appealing to the masses! Even I get some ridicule for buying one from time to time.
