Hi i am Derek i live in central, ma. I work at a local nursery loading and delivering mulch in our 03 F-550 PSD, ad JD 5510. i also have never seen another 1st gen diesel around, theres only one w150 around, but 89 style.

I bought my truck and redid the body for about a year and painted it this spring. I love my diesel and would trade it. a local guy offered me 6,000.00 and i said thanks but no thanks.

Damon here, Princeton NJ. I've lived here about 10 years after growing up in Anchorage, Alaska. My dad had an 89 when I lived up there, and I guess it just stuck with me as a sweet truck.

Since I've lived in NJ, I've owned about 15 cars. The most recent before this truck was a Ford Lightning (1st Gen), but I averaged about 11 MPG, with mixed driving. Low gearing, big engine, blah...

So, I opted for the diesel...and hopefully she'll stick around for a while.

My other love, of which I have none right now, is mid-80s, early-90s turbo mopars. Lebarons, Daytonas, minivans, etc. They're a lot like these 1st gen trucks in that they take mods very readily, and aren't very expensive to make quicker than the rest of the pack. There's a few guys running 8s and 9s and a lot of people running those little guys in the 10s-12s...and those are their daily drivers.

My current fleet is:

08 Equinox (wife's car)
91 VW Cabby (summer time drop top)
08 Monterey 180FS (boatage)
Various green yardworking items.
