First attempt at the buck
First time ever doing this type of thing. I think i would do better if i was allowed a second try at it.
I didn't launch at a high enough rpm (2500) should have done it at the redline. Then at the end of the track i blew an intercooler boot off. I found a tear on the bottom of intercooler coupler. Replaced that and took another video, this time on asphult.
Now this is the turbo that i rebuilt, i'm not sure if the shaft is any good. I found another just like it and i'm going to swap them to see if there is any difference.

The first time I went up was in my old truck a 2000 f350 srw. Now I should say I was only 18 at the time and this was my first standard vehicle and the clutch was pretty well shot.
In my infinite wisdom I thought it would be smart to to try it at the pull since it was all hopped up and worked great on the road.
Well needless to say I made it about 20 feet and the clutch let go.
The announcer laughed and said " that's what it looks like when a clutch let's go". Then the hole crowd laughed.
I had to get towed off the track.
Talk about making a guy feel bad and needing redemption.
Sad part was I moved away about 2 months later and sold the truck.
I still think about that night and wish imy current truck was 4x4 so I could go back and try again

Yeah Pat ur right, i keep thinkin about it. I think i should have treated it like i wanted to do a burnout... just rev the heck out of it and pop the clutch. Its grabby i'm unsure which clutch is in there but there is plenty of left looking in the peep hole.
I think my biggest down fall was trying to pull in 4HI 2nd gear. When guys I knew with similar trucks but with autos would pull in 2nd 4LO.
I thought I could try 4hi since I could pull away from them in any gear on the high way.
Guess I was wrong

Nick,
I was rooting for you on the other side. Me and my buddy both said you could of had him or been right there with him if you spooled and got off the line quicker. It was awesome to see you represent 1st genners everywhere though.

Yeah pat, my truck needs a lot of safety stuff(loops and u-joint shields) to pull and besides i think i would rip the receiver right off the back of the truck.
Thanks sarge, i will do better next time.
I also need to tune the pump better, its sluggish down low but lights at 1200.
