I finally have money together to get an HX 35 but i'm having a real difficult problem finding one. I was wondering, if i find one without the elbow on it, can the elbow off the h1c work and just use a 1st gen downpipe and where can i find the piping to go from the engine across to the turbo since mine is non i/c.

 

Yes you can do that with the elbow. I built my own crossover, see my gallery for pics of it.

 

If you intend on using the factory cross over you will have to shorten it about 2" because when you turn the housing it hits the cross over. The other thing you will need is a 2 1/2" (maybe 2") to 3" reducer to go from the turbo to the cross over.

 

ig you have a cast iron elbow, you can also use a 4 inch second gen downpipe thats what i did, it fits a tad tight but it doesnt bang or rattle and sounds great

 

Turbo is 2.5", factory crossover is 2". But I say ditch it, cause that thing is restrictive!!!

 

yes you can build a big 3" crossover easy with silicon elbows from ebay, 3" aluminized tube, and a plate you fabricate (with a small section of 3" tube sticking out the top)
