Finally gettin somewhere!! "PICS"

Well, I am finally gettin somewhere with my 92 cummins project truck.. I kinda am working backwards from how I usally like to do them.. But I am kinda doing this one as the I get time and extra cash.. So far I put a 47 rh trans in out of a 95, got rid off the factory blocks and the other 4" blocks the kid had in there, made my own shackles.. sandblasted the frame from the cab back, painted it with Rust blast from kbs coatings. A long list still lies ahead, but I hope to keep plugging along..

Thanks guys.... The shocks are actually pretty old..lol I think they are black diamond. My buddy had them for ever up in the garage, then I bought them from him awile back and been laying around. So I cleaned them up and they look like new!! Going to to try and tackle the rear disc brakes conversion in the next week or so and get the gas tank back in...Then I have to move up front where I need to spend some major cash..

Wow, nice work (nice shop).

Your sig mentions cross over steering. I hear about it a lot but don't really know what it is. I'm assuming the drag link connects at the passenger side? Would you mind to post a pic of that while you're at it too?

Here is a few pics of the cross over steering.. What it consists of is a reverse rotation steering gear box from a late 70's w-200 or 300, 2" drop shackles in the front/rear. Then I purchased a bar and the two rod ends from off road unlimited.. Just gave them a measurement and they got it pretty close. I also bought the 3" riser block and the king pin plate because I was to lazy to make one.. This was all done on my wheelin truck with 13" of lift and 44" boggers.. It handles like a dream going down the road.. I am going to try and do the same setup on my cummins project with a 2.5 skyjacker spring.. hopefully it works..I'm pretty confident I will have the room, but the drop shackles are a must because you need the room for the pitman arm going foward instead of reverse..

VERY nice. Thanks for taking the time (and pictures) to explain. Are the drop shackles an off the shelf item or did you make them?

you should not need that riser plate for it to clear..

plus with shorter bolts less likely that one may sheer off or break

Ya.. looks like I'll just need an arm.. It will be awhile before I get to that.. I found a 92 donor truck today for some parts for like 500 bucks.. Has a real nice box and I need some interior parts, door panels and stuff.. So, that will be good if I get that should find out after the holiday..

DNR,
Good job on the rig! How do you like that KBS coating so far? I looked into it, but it seemed to be the same stuff (or similar) as POR15? I used POR15 on a project, and wasn't too happy with the results. I have used Rust Bullet, which I find to be a terrific product.
