Factory deep trans pan?

I read somewhere that the 98 and up trucks have a deeper trans pan. Could this be an inexpensive upgrade for the older trucks. All pans (727, 518, 47rh, 48re) can interchange, right? Anyone have a part #?

Might be different according to fluid capacity, but they all bolt up, 727 to at least 47re, possibly 48re. Yes there is a special year with one of the newer autos, that holds at least 2 more quarts of ATF. Part number? Search or maybe someone will chime in on that one.

One of those deep pans was on ebay last year, new they were like $200, this one brought every bit of that cause the mopar one was either discontinuned or on a really long back order.

Definatly way cooler taht a mag hytec, but i have one of there DD pans and i cna't complain except in a couple of places my cummins beige rattle can paint is chipping off of the factory powder coat. HEHE
