Engine value?

I am considering selling my engine, as a complete unit. It has 144k on the clock, and other than some minor oil leaks, runs great. Does anyone have a clue what these things are going for? Its a 1991 non I/c.

FTR, Im not looking for replys to buy it, in all honesty I havent made up my mind yet

A used engine with the VE and old style 9mm head complete with turbo, injection pump and accessories (vac. pump, ps pump) is worth 1800-2000 tops. I've seen that dude on e-bay...he wants 2500 for an industrial 5.9 with a 215 horse p-pump and nearly 5 grand for an old VE-pumped engine out of a dodge! Doesn't add up, but people are buying, so who knows...

In my part of the real world I have seen the first gen Cummins advertised from $1200 to $2500. The survival rate of daily drivers with the salty PA winter roads is not good. Also most of the 94 - 96 engines can be found starting in the $3000 price range. One local wrecking yard had a 91 engine advertised on the internet for $2500. Locally he usually has the highest prices on all the parts for sale.

I payed $2500 for mine from a local wrecker. 93 I/C complete, well less starter and fly wheel, I got them to throw them in later but that is a different story..... BTW mine had a huge bash in the oil pan from the wreck it came out of.
