electric window and mirrors
My drivers side power window has given up the ghost. It doesn't do anything, no noise etc. so I doth think its stuck. What's the best way to troubleshoot it? Also my power mirrors just do a clunk clunk thing. How do you get them apart and is there anything I can fix?
Thanks alot, John

Original power mirrors on a first gen. don't usually come apart without breaking something(housing, glass whatever). You can take power mirrors from a `94-`97 and disassemble them(they made to come apart) and swap the 1st gen mounting stem in the 2nd gen mirror. The 2nd gen mirrors have stronger gears and better mounts for the motors. As far as the window I'd check the wires where they go from the door into the cab, with age they tend to get brittle and can break, it only takes 1 break in 1 wire to kill it.
I guess with 300k miles the door has been opened and closed a couple of times.
I'll take the door panel off and see if I have any power at the switch. The other window works fine from the drivers side so I figured they were both driven from the same wire. I hate to get into the door since I have put deadening on it.
Thanks, John
