Anyone tried the electric water pump "available at Jegs and Summit" on the street?

Not trying to be rude or anything. towards the top of the page just above the advertising it should be a white bow with a red button on it that says search.

I've tried using it a few times and got no hits for a phrase I had seen in several different places.

I've found using the "advance search" allows you to search on just this forum which is usually what I want.

I am a very experienced "searcher" and I do not get expected results on this site anymore. I used to, but in the fairly recent past I get no results on searches that used to produce results. Anyway, I think one word responses aren't much help, in my opinion...Mark

I'm an experienced sercher also, but I have never been able to get the search tools on this site to work very well, if at all.

mhuppetz has been on this site for 8+ years with almost 3000 posts. I'm sure he knows about the search function and where it can be found!

With that said.... I'm interested as well. I hear its great for higher rpms without popping a freeze plug.

Maybe ask the 2nd and 3rd gen fellahs about it. Seems they use them more. I'd be curious about reliability issues.

Thanks Damon.
I am pushing water out of my head gasket at high RPM's, I need to lower the coolant pressure.
I'm half afraid to put a new head gasket in there with the 4,200 spring and my insane timing with the water pressure I have. Those electric pumps are expensive though.

Have you thought about "clipping" the current belt driven pump?

Yes, but that ruins the low rpm flow, and i still have to drive my truck everyday.

I understand. Then sounds like an electric pump is in your future. I have no idea how well they work. As I understand it they are more for strip/track not so much for daily use. But there is only one way you will find out.
I think I'd try to clip an extra pump. Not full on every other blade but maybe knock some of the edges down. Not sure how much balance comes into effect but if you have a spare then I'd think it would be worth the effort. May take a weekend of trail and error. But if your able to find a sweet spot then it would be worth it.
