Is it possible to use a standard 8 foot long bed from a 1/2 ton pu to replace a damaged dually bed. The dually bed floor is rusted pretty good. But the dually side sheetmetal is in really good shape nice and straight and unrusted. Can I use the standard bed and reskin it with the dually skins or can i just modify the wheelwell lip opening easily enough?

Opinions would be appreciated.

The dually is a 90 CTD standard cab. The replacement bed I found is off a 84 1/2 ton pu.

The dually has a bigger wheel well then the regular bed does. You would have to make the opening larger.
