Dual Exhaust
Dual Exhaust
So I don't want to go to stacks on my truck (yet
)
I was thinking about putting 3 to 3 1/2 inch duals out the back of it.
I was thinking of splitting it before the axle.
Does anyone have any pictures of dual exhausts on their trucks to show me what it looks like and how they have it hooked up under there?
I want to be able to shoot black soot on the bumper of the ricer behind me

I built the exhaust for my crew-cab a couple weeks ago. I split mine at the bottom of the dp and ran 3" past the t-case into 4". 4" tails with 5" tips. It's not completely done yet but neither is the truck. It will exit behind the back tires when it's on the truck. I couldn't get 4" around the t-case as of yet, but when I figure out how it will get a 4" dp and splitter. Can't give anymore of my secret away, I let you see it when the truck goes back together
. It's much easier to run exhaust with no cab or box on.

i always thought dual exhaust would be cool on these trucks. duals 4"s, dumping out at 45* angle at each corner of the bed. just an idea, havent done it, prolly never will.
i dont necessarily agree that dual exhaust is just for gassers, but there are way too many gassers that have it that shouldnt. But to each their own...i think stacks belong on semi trucks

Well, I couldn't agree more on that statement. I like the idea of one big diameter, single pipe exhaust system on the Cummins diesels in full-size trucks. I have to say I really used to not be a fan of two stacks on a 6 cylinder diesel engine. With one exhaust manifold it made much more sense with a single exhaust pipe to one exhaust stack. I think dual exhaust is absolutely fine on a V8 diesel, making sense that it has two exhaust manifolds to exhaust out two, individual exhaust pipes. Two exhaust stacks on an inline 6 engine isn't that bad of an idea, but I myself don't prefer it, and I've found is common place on heavy duty trucks from working at a Freightliner dealership. But I know when I do my exhaust system on the Dodge I'll be installing a 4" system transitioning into a 5" single exhaust stack.
There is a kit out there, just seen a 01 recently with dual split out after the muffler, vary quality looking piping.
He had blown one of the cooler hoses off...............Yeah seamed to blow lots of black smoke out both side, pretty evenly, when the skinny peddle was down!
His chip turned up, all the way, didn't help matter either

Didn't notice a brand when i look under there, Sorry

Dare to be different. I say do the dual exhaust, if it's what you want then do it. I did, don't really care if other people don't like it. But I do know that people will look again unlike stacks, seeing how pretty much everyone and there brother has stacks on their diesels and some idiots on gassers. Our one crew cab (pic in my avatar) has a 4" black stack w/ a flapper. This was done to go with the Military look that the truck came with. It's also getting a snorkel and roof rack(maybe).
i love duals if any ones got em i would like to see pics. a friend of mine has a 93 that he bought a dual exaust kit for a 2 or 3 gen changed things around a lil and made it work on the 93. looked awsome 45 out of the bed
I agree with EClancy- stacks belong on semis. Dual exhaust- not sure. I'm leaning toward being on NA V engines. If you have a single turbo outlet, you only need a single exhaust.
Diesel Injection of Pittsburg says you can gain 15-30hp on a N14 by going to bigger filters and dual exhaust, so duals arent a total waste in some cases. But, I'd think they'd need to be split shortly after the downpipe, or it'd just be for show.
