draglink issues

ok draglink gone bad part6 in 106000 miles. i was wondering if using hiem joints would work for an adjustable drag link? drill out the tapers on the arms {steering, pitman} and install heavy duty bolts. also i was wondering if i should have steering arm block and a dropped pitman arm?

I think that would work. Have you been running adjustable drag links or factory ones? Your idea would work real good on the adjustable because you could thread the hiem joints into the draglink body.

93, if you are running a 6 inch lift you need to be running a drop pitman arm.

i actually have both. i was wondering if thats what the problem is. po did the lift right after buing it in 93. with the hiem joints , i would have right and left handed ones with a center link machined out. i have played with hiems before on my jeep, just didnt know how the dodge would react.

I'm running an adjustable draglink with just a 6" drop pitman on my 6" lift. Lift has only been on for about 5k miles, but the drag linnk looks and feels fine.

I would definitely go cross over.... There are a lot of products for mounting steering arms to Dana 60 kingpin knuckles. I had to reinforce my frame at the steering box mount though.
