Anything special about overhauling them? Mine's toast and I'll be diving into it tomorrow.
TIA!

There are some tricks but I don't really know what they are. Im not sure if the stabilizing ball and socket is rebuild able. U-joints on the other hand are just that...u-joints.
I just looked in the fsm they are a little more involved than just your typical u-joint replacment. If the center ball and socket are worn you may need to replaced the flange end and the spider as its call (the center piece). If the ball and socket is worn out replaced whats needed to fix it. Ive done just u-joints in the past but with out having a good center ball and socket it won't keep the drive shaft centered and you will get a vibration and possibly wear out other parts.
Good luck

My experience with constant-velocity joints is that, if it is in need of attention, a rebuild is only a temporary fix, and it is always cheaper to buy the entire shaft new, slip-yoke and all.
In it's over 400,000 miles, my old Chevy 4WD has had three complete new shafts and could stand one now.
Shop around and you will find entire shafts for about the same money as rebuild kits.
