doing head gasket injectures

doing head gasket injectures

when takeing off head do you have to take out the inj. or can you just lift up the head i am just wondering if they stick down past the head dont want to snap them any info would be great and to those who have not taken off a head even a fred and yota owner could do it not hard just heavy

You dont HAVE to take out the injectors when pulling the head, but I would highly recommend it as they do stick down below the surface of the head.

that is what i thought i was not sure i should of just pm you because you just did a head do i just losen the big housing nut on the injec. or is there more than meets the eye

Yes, the large nut is what holds the injector into the head. If the injectors have never been out of the head before they can be kinda a pain, you may need to grab them with channel locks and wiggle them side to side as you are pulling up on them in order to break them free from the head.

A slide hammer works very well for pulling injectors.
