I broke down and separated the engine and tranny. I am about ready to pull engine. A couple of fuel lines, engine mounts and steering lines are the last things. The steering lines are leaky, should I I want to take them to the tractor shop and have them put new hydraulic hose on, but I cant find where one of the two steel lines threads into the steering pump.

Well motor is at rest in the crew cab. I removed the t case as suggested and then took the 46rh and 5.9 together in one shot. We used a 4,000 lb. cherry picker (set on 3,000 on the stinger) and a load leveler. That leveler really made the difference in getting engine out and in. We did have the whole front end, including suspension, off the crew, and had to pull the tires off the donor. Lowering both trucks clear to the bottom of a floor jack really helped. In fact when dropping the the drivetrain into the crew we lowered and raised the truck as needed to get it home. Well donor suspension and drivetrain are in snug and safe for a New Year. Happy New Year all!
