I've used the Duplicolor for some different applications, and didn't find it to be great. It chips and cracks pretty easy, and isn't much tougher than paint. I used it on some ATV racks, and some other applications. I do not abuse my stuff, bash it, etc. I also used Herculiner in my truck bed, because I had purchased it to line the inside of a Jeep, and never did it. It also chips and scratches pretty easy. Regardless of the prep, which you need to do according to the instructions, the product itself is not nearly as tough or resiliant as the professionally applied stuff. So, if you use (at least the two I named) the do-it-yourself stuff, expect to touch it up from time to time. If I were going to do bedline the outside of my truck, I would definitely pony up for the good stuff.
I use my truck every day, and I was disappointed enough in the Herculiner that I touched up the spots, and purchased a slide in bedliner to go on top. Now, the bed is waterproof, and the liner protects it from damage.

I have used the Herculiner rool-on stuff on my bed rails and headache rack. It has been on there for about 4 years, no real issues even after countless salt baths in the winter.... Last year I top-coated it with a satin black to give it some like back but certainly was holding up just fine...

If You want to protect the undercarriage why not use por15, you brush it or roll it then paint on top to protect from uv light and done deal.

I've used the same stuff. It's been great for the price and the stuff I put it through.

Linex isnt that expensive should be 450 ish or catch a fair special, or there might be online special. Far as DIY liners - I hated em with a passion when I was doing liners

i like the way the Herculiner rool-on stuff works i am doing a frame off on my 1990 club cab that is getting the cummins swapped i did the whole frame and the under side of the cab fire wall and the whole interior of the cab. then took a can of gun metal gray spray can over the liner in the cab to match the body once its painted looks really good and was cheap! i have used the por 15 and it faded for me really fast and it was kinda pricy for me. i just took a little sand blaster to the parts i was painting and the used some paint-thinner to clean it then just started to role it on. i let mine sit for about 24 hours just to make sure it cured well.

my buddy just put por 15 brush on on his frame and he said that stuff was the best and that it holds up awesome. He herculined his interior and it looks good and sealed everything up good but he said that it doesn't insulate and you can hear every little thing in the truck.

I am wanting to put the spray liner on my 97 2500. I'm thinking about going from the belt moulding down. Does anyone have any pics of some trucks done this way? Thanks

Durabak is another product. It comes in a variety of colors. I have no personal experience with it, but it does look like a quality product.

Hurculiner!!! Did my box, rails, tailgate, and floor pan for under $150. It is tough as nails too. Best DIY product I have seen.

I did Al's liner on my rockers and bottom of my truck, I plan on doing the bed when it gets warmer. There are some pics in this thread https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...s-t268328.html
