differential bearing

differential bearing install

quick question for you guys who have done carrier bearing installs...
if i replace my carrier bearings do i need to re-set it up? or can i just reuse the original shims?

It really should be re-set, just to be sure. Having said that, I've thrown my fair share together with just a quick check of gear mesh and they ran for a long time. I'd never do that to someone elses vehicle, mind you, just my own junk

Make sure you use the same make of bearing if possible. Should be ok but might get some gear noise. Make sure you put the shims back on the same side you took them off from.
