different rear end?

different rear end?

well right now ive got a dana 70 with 3.07s and id like to swap in a srw d80 with 3.54s and disc brakes. is this possible or am i dreaming again?

hey-Hey!!!,
It is possible. Some cutting/welding is required( so I have read ). Spring perches need to move and you'll need shock mounts if the axle tube diameter is different from the D70( as you won't be able to use the ones from the D70 OE install ). You should also need a disc/disc master cylinder as the disc needs a bit more volume of brake fluid delivery v. the drums. ALso, if the axle center line to u-joint yoke length is different you'll be into some driveshaft shortening. All Diesel should run the type 1410 joints( at least; that is what they came with in rear axles ).

The perches just need the holes hogged out. Other than that Douglas got it.

im installing 48re in next few months and with 3.07s, od locked up @65 would be about 900rpm's,but wel see how it goes.
