Differences in the VE?

Hi, I just had to pull the injector pump from my dads early non I/C 1991. Sucks as it ran perfectly but has a drip leak coming out the bottom of the block that the shutoff solenoid is screwed into. My dad has a rebuilt 1993 pump but I remember when I installed the 1990 Cummins into my 1992 RC and I used all 1992 diesel harnesses. That the pumps were slightly different causing me to make up my own harness to the pump. Can someone explain the differences and if the rebuilt 93 pump dad has will be fine to use in the 91? I just want to know if I will run into problems installing the rebuilt pump in it to save him so cash as our local diesel shop wants $1,100 to rebuild the pump. I wish we had more shop choices to chose from. I remember roughly 10 yrs ago or so my brothers 93 had a stream leak from the backside of the pump (next to the block) and a shop located in mid state PA had no issues simply installing an o-ring to fix it. Now they have long since closed up and now we only have one option

Thank you to everyone for all and any help with great info. I really have only messed with 1992-93 trucks. The 90 motor I installed into my RC was the first non I/C motor, LOL. I don't want to install a pump if it wont work but I also don't want to make my dad spend that much cash if it isn't necessary.

Sorry to add a pointless thread. I did a search and found out the subtle differences. I think we are better off to find a non I/C pump or have the leaking pump rebuilt.

Why don't you move the KSB? Isn't that about the only difference? You could also just change the intake manifold temp sensor?

After talking with a good buddy he is going to be nice and sell me a good replacement pump for $325. I really don't want to change things. I did that on my RC. Word to the wise by one donor rig and go from there. My mistake, not knowing the differences I bought a 90 but wanted to utilize all 92 wiring and computer. It caused me to make several changes on the motor. We live we learn.

The things that require changing are pretty menial things. Swap the deliver valves and the only other thing that matters is the KSB works the opposite between the 2 pumps.
