Diamond Eye 4"

Hey all, right now I have stacks and my egts fall rather quick. My question is, will I lose mpg and will my egt's be higher with a diamond eye exhaust kit?

Also, will it be a bit quieter with a their muffler?

You know...this probably goes against popular opinion, but I would definitely get the muffler. I'd think 4 inch from the turbo back would be plenty, as far as EGT goes.

I have a 3 inch system on mine and I love the sound of it. Sure, i might lose a tad bit because it's probably a little restrictive (definitely not round where it goes past the 205), but I sure like the sound, and it's controllable for when i slip in or out of the neighborhood in the early hours.

I have the 4", with the Muffler, on my truck and I really like it. Its plenty loud since its a straight thru muffler. It gets pretty tight in a few places but overall the fit is great. Can't beat it for the price. My EGT's are still pretty low with the pump slightly turned up, even towing my 10k+ toy hauler.

Yeah I want a muffler.. it's awfully loud and long trips suck after two hours.

What about those of us who deal with salt and rusting situations regularly paint it or leave as is?

I just bought it for 275$ off tvdiesel.com, I'm going to paint mine with some black grill paint(rust oleum). The last exhaust I had I used that paint, it's bullet proof. Almost like a dye? Not sure if I'll wrap the downpipe or not.. probably not.

Hopefully this quiets down the truck so the neighbors don't wake up when it idles. With the 5" stacks it would shake the house

Well it burns.. when it burns it turns to a flat black.. once it's burned on it doesn't come off. If you rub your finger on it.. it's a black powder almost. Doesn't flake or peel, not sure what kind of paint it is. I put it on my ATV exhaust and it's been on there since 2001.

I opened the box, scotchbrite, acetone, then painted it with the rustoleum flat black grill paint, then installed. Down pipe to tailpipe still looks like it did a year ago.

I went from a single 4" to full exhaust on a 2wd ext cab. I loved it.

On my current, I went from a single 4" to a 4" straight piped turn out right before the rear wheel. It is just as quiet as the Diamond Eye but full throttle it is definitely louder.

Did the exact same with mine last July minus using a scotchbrite pad. I wiped all the tubing clean with acetone, suspended them from tie-down straps and sprayed them with high-temp flat black. It still looks the same as the day I painted it.

The muffler that comes with the Diamond eye kit sounds like crap to my Dad and I both, get someone to drive your truck away with that muffler on. It creates alot of low drone sounds from outside the truck

I really like the FTE Resonator (30") if you don't like the sound of the muffler. To me the sound didn't change, just the drone and the volume level.
