"Definitive" how-to threads - post your links
I meant the sticky thread.
Yep, sure have. Many times. It's a series of links in a series of posts that are divided by type.
They did a GREAT job, and it's about as organized as you can get for a forum post. I'm not knocking anything they did. They worked hard to put the information together and I commend them as well.
However, the next step hasn't been taken. It's going to be.
You can still have live threads. I have no problem with that. However, if an article needs to be updated, the "heart" of the article should be updated. The way you're talking about doing it is kind of like a policy manual. How often do you take a policy manual and throw the updates on the end, without bothering to change the actual information where it should be? I can tell you how many. None. There is a reason for that.
Threads are great, but a LOT of people don't like to read entire threads especially when they get long. So basically, the longer it gets, the lower the percentage of readers.
Learn how to post on a Wiki and yes, you will. Otherwise, you'll have to give it to an editor. The best way to do it is post it like you normally would and let the editor pull the information over. Any updates would also be included in the main article. The thread can go on for as far as you'd like but once again. Once again though, once that thread dies, then you have to put it in a sticky and then once the sticky gets so full, it becomes a mess and here we are full circle again.
At this point, I'm done explaining. You'll either like it or you won't. We'll see what the majority thinks once it's done.
Our STICKY is very well organized.
Have you looked in it ??

I think those who have organized and set up our sticky should be commended on a job well done.
However, the next step hasn't been taken. It's going to be.
Also, many of the articles in our sticky are also live threads that we can add new information to as it comes available, without having to do anything other than post it, and anyone can ask a question about the information and the answers benefit others in the future.

Are we going to be able to add to things in the WIKI by simply posting the information like we currently are able to do ??

Truth hurts. Sorry man, but you went off the handle before even TRYING to understand what was going on. That is not MY FAULT, yet you are angry at me and don't understand my frustration? Am I supposed to react by being all nice and with a smile? Not gonna happen.
I'll take all of the suggestions into consideration. It would most likely be a link right on top of the first gen forum vs a sticky but either way, the information will be there.

Why is every comment you make egg on a argument?.............................
Flash.
It won't be organized in the same fashion because the information in this thread is not organized at all. It's put together like any normal thread would be, which is understandable. When you don't have tools to organize things, then this is how things end up. It's easy for you to find because you've been doing it this way for a long time. No problem there either.
However, the future of this site is not going to be just a hodge podge of information that can't be easily indexed or searched. It WILL be organized, and it WILL be easy to find. Not a single person here has even given it a chance, and there is a bunch of complaining going on without any kind of 1st gen information being transferred over yet.
I've never seen such a panic over such a non-issue in my life. I've made it clear about 5 times that this thread is not going to be deleted.

I am not worried about the info getting "lost", and I actually support teh idea of teh wiki, seems like a natural development as this place grows, and I thank you and the guys putting it together forbeing willing to take the time and effort to do so..I merely was curious to see if it could be kept in the same general organization, performance, electrical, etc.. if not , fine, if so fine...
My suggestion was meant to help everyone accept the new Wiki, not as a complaint..
sorry if it came across otherwise.
Jack, I think you may have taken my comment the wrong way..
