Deep pan cooling differences

Has anyone put a deep pan on the 518 trannys and is it worth the gains. I would really like to here from someone with a tranny temp gauge before and after. I will be pulling a camper this year and want cheap cooling mods if possible. I just dont want to waste money.

A deep pan isn't worth it JUST for the cooling. It's far more effective to add another tranny cooler than a deeper pan.

Try a Tru-Cool H7B, it's probably the best on the market. It's a lot cheaper than a deep pan, too.

It's about $76 from here:

Ditto, I would go with a cooler instead of the DDpan. I picked mine up used and got a good deal on it is why I got it. Costs more for a tranny service and I do mine quite regular so a reg depth pan would have been fine for me. As far as temps go mine will run up to about 185 or so and that is as high as I have ever seen mine. I get my temps from the pan. With the regular pan it would do the same thing just a little quicker, but would not go any higher. In fact it would cool down quicker too, I guess less fluid to cool down.
